BMW wishes us all a happy holidays this season with a video showing why their vehicles, specifically the BMW E30 pickup truck, is not the best vehicle to get a Christmas tree.

Granted, the worst holiday feature to forget until Christmas day is the tree, though it does happen. I've not set my tree up yet, but that's because I live alone and my apartment is small. Though this isn't about me, this is about how BMW can still make powerful trucks, not just luxury sedans.

In 1986, BMW decided that the world needed a better pickup, so they took their 3-series convertible, brought out the wheels, and converted the back into a truck bed. The stiff chassis of the convertible made it a great prototype for a pickup. Thus the BMW E30 was born. Some years later, the engine was replaced with one from an M3, giving it a newfound 200 horsepower and nearly 180 pound-feet of torque. Something much for fitting for a load hauler.

Like the mighty Achilles, this power would be its downfall. The extra kick in its step has a tendency to strip away any fragilities a tree might have once had prior to leaving the lot. Hopefully, everyone's trees remain green, and those who have to use their BMW to get a tree remember to bring a tarp.
