The Nissan GT-R is nothing to scoff at. It's base 565 horsepower and 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 solidify its place as Nissan's flagship performance vehicle. It once was modified to push a massive 2,700 horsepower. Now it's back for more.

In September of last year, a vehicle known as the Extreme Turbo Systems GT-R amazed the industry when it ran a quarter mile in only 6.88 seconds with a trap speed of 222.93 miles per hour. This impressive monster had 2,700 horsepower under its hood after all.

But this is not enough. The Extreme Turbo Systems team is back, having improved the GT-R to an unheard of 3,500 horsepower. We can see (and hear) the power this vehicle emits in the video below.

The car has now reached levels of power so high, that they risk blowing parts right out of the hood compartment. In the video, we see this when the upper pipe shot right off of the car. Fortunately in the second run, the GT-R kept it together and achieved 3,008 wheel horsepower.

They have yet to test out the new and improved ETS GT-R on the track, though they plan to. With any luck, they'll beat their previous records. And boy do I hope to see it.
