Remember that 6 wheeled truck by Hennessey, the VelociRaptor 6x6? Last we heard the automaker intended to build the concept. Now that plan has set into motion.

Customer examples are being built at Hennessey's headquarters in Sealy, Texas. They only intend to build 50 of these beefcakes, with the possibility of 50 more being made outside of the U.S. depending on demand.

The VelociRaptor is based on the F-150 Raptor SuperCrew, with one small change. If you look very closely under the body, you'll notice there are 6 wheels, instead of 4.

To be serious, there are a number of changes from the 2. The VelociRaptor will have locking rear axles, an upgraded suspension, flared wheel arches, custom turbochargers, a high-flow exhaust system, a bigger intercooler, and full ECU tuning, and LED lights. This should make it a fair competitor to the Mercedes-AMG G63 6x6 and Kahn Design Flying Huntsman 110 WB 6x6.

Pricetags for the 2018 model sit at $349,000. This will cover the cost of a donor Raptor, all modifications, and a tuning of the 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 so that it delivers 605 horsepower and 622 pound-feet of torque. The truck can hit 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds. which is outstanding for a truck of this size. Hennessey also offers an upgraded Brembo brake package, larger wheels, and interior upgrades for an additional $22,000.

Regardless of what you choose, you'll get a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty.
