BAC is gaining popularity as an enthusiast's choice in intense sports cars. I'm not talking about tough looking sedans, but single, center seat vehicles.
The company has been around since 2012. This is mostly for the Mono, a single-seat open-wheel sports car. Performing as impressively as it looks, the Mono weighs a mere 1,279 pounds thanks to the 54 different carbon fiber panels. Under the hood is a 2.5-liter, naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine pushing 305 horsepower and 227 pound-feet of torque.
With a top speed of 170 mph, a 0.7-second 0-60 mph time, and 0-100 mph of about 6 seconds, the Mono is arguably the best racing vehicle available to the modern man.
Announced last week, BAC has struck a deal with Manhatten Motor Cars to begin selling the Mono in the United States. Before now, all sales went through Former Major League Baseball pitcher C.J. Wilson, who sold 16 examples.
The vehicle isn't cheap, as you may expect. Interested buyers will need to drop $235,000 on this one. And maybe a bit more for professional driving lessons. You don't want to crash this one. Especially when it looks as cool as that.
