Bad news comes to those with stock in Tesla. The electric automaker is under investigation, again, over misleading information. The FBI now suspects that CEO Elon Musk misstated information regarding production.

According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, the FBI is investigating whether Tesla had misled investors with false information. Specifically, if they incorrectly stated the production numbers of the Model 3 sedan.

Tesla has since responded to this claim, stating that there's been nothing of the sort in recent history.

"We have not received a subpoena, a request for testimony, or any other formal process, and there have been no additional document requests about this from the Department of Justice for months."

This is occurring not long after Musk was under investigating for a couple of Tweets regarding private investor funding. Musk had claimed that funding had been secured to privatize Tesla with a Saudi Arabian firm. After the privatization idea was canceled, Musk was put under investigating for manipulating investor perception. He was eventually found guilty of misinformation and was struck with a hearty punishment.

More on this as it develops.
