After a very rough fourth quarter in 2016 where Tesla saw a 9% fall in deliveries, they have bounced back quite a bit in their first quarter of 2017. After a record year so far, Tesla has already delivered over 25,000 cars in just a three month period. The car maker has stated that it was a 70% rise from their first quarter in 2016.

Elon Musk, the man who founded Tesla in 2003 and also owns the space rocket firm, SpaceX is incredibly pleased with their sales to this point. Tesla has big plans in store for the coming year and they’re trying to get as much money as possible so they can launch their brand new Model 3. The Model 3 is going to be Tesla’s most affordable car yet and the manufacturer is hoping that it will raise sales even more after it launches.

With the Model X and the Model S both being priced at over $70,000, the Model 3 will be going on sale this year and will hit the street with an MSRP of about $35,000. That’s nearly half the price of their other vehicles and this should hopefully bring the Tesla name to many more middle-class households before the end of 2017. So far, Tesla has moved 13450 Model S cars and 11,550 Model X vehicles. If the numbers keep rising, the Model 3 should have a huge impact on sales as soon as it launches near the end of this year.
