You may recall at the beginning of the month when comedian Jerry Seinfeld was taken to court for allegedly selling a fraudulent Porsche to a buyer. Seinfeld is now taking legal action against the dealership he purchased the rare ride from for the same exact reason.

According to a report by the Associated Press, Seinfeld filed a lawsuit against European Collectibles via the Manhattan federal court. The report claims that Seinfeld was given a Porsche 356 with chassis number 84908. It then clarified that he was given a certificate of authenticity for the vehicle and he had no knowledge that it may not have been authentic.

This particular vehicle is a rarity, partially for being one of a few to have the Auratium Green color and for being one of the only 56 GS/GT Speedsters with alloy panels.

Seinfeld had purchased the vehicle from the dealership in 2013 for $1.2 million. He sold the vehicle to Fica Frio Limited in 2016. FFL would then file the in-authenticity lawsuit against Seinfeld in 2018. Seinfeld has reportedly left a personal apology, offering a refund, but it cannot be confirmed if this happened or not.

The latest filing claims that Seinfeld had contacted European Collectibles, informing them of the lawsuit and demanding that they resolve the matter directly, which European Collectibles refused to do.

This makes me wonder: if it wasn't someone as high profile as Jerry Seinfeld, would the dealership have gotten away with it, Scott-free?
