Ringbrothers, a custom shop based in Wisconsin, will be displaying some of their best custom cars this year as SEMA 2017. One, in particular, is the Defiant, a 1972 AMC Javelin with a 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 known as the Hellcat.
This will be the first time the Ringbrothers work on an AMC car, as well as the first time that the entire build will consist of carbon fiber parts. Since the vehicle will be covered in the lightweight material, its safe to assume the overall weight will be relatively low.
Nothing complements a low weight than a high horsepower. The Hellcat engine is paired with a 4.5-liter Whipple supercharger to give the Defiant a crazy 1,000+ horsepower.
The only visual we have to go off of unfortunately is a black and yellow teaser image of the vehicle's profile. From that, we can infer that the AMC will have larger wheels, a lower height, and a chopped roofline. It has been confirmed that the final product will have a BASF Glasurit Waterborne paint job titled Jalop Gold.
A great deal of work has gone into the modifications of this car, and it contains a number of one-of-a-kind features. co-founder Mike Ring said he's most excited for the Javelin build because of a personal history with the car.
The modified 1972 AMC Javelin will be on full display this October 31st in Las Vegas for the 2017 SEMA show.
