It was back in 2011 at the Frankfurt Auto Show that we first saw the Rimac Concept_One, an electric supercar. At the time it seemed like an unrealistic gimmick. Who would have guessed that 7 years later, every automaker and their mother would be throwing their hat into the electric race? Now Rimac is back with the Concept_One's successor.
Electric commuter cars are becoming more commonplace, but performance vehicles are only recently getting into the trend. We've seen the Nio EP9 at Nürburgring, and Tesla has announced a second gen Roadster. Rimac has resurfaced to tease their next electric supercar.
We don't know what it's called, we do know that it will feature a 4-motor electric powertrain capable of power up to 1,088 horsepower. It can go from 0-60 mph in a freaky fast time of 2.5 seconds and has a top speed of 220 mph. Since the Concept_One had an electric range of 217 miles, odds are this new vehicle will exceed that.
Unlike their last electric supercar, which was limited to 10 vehicles, Rimac has hinted that as many as 100 of this new car will be produced. This unnamed car is due to debut very soon, March 6 to be precise. It is expected to appear at the 2018 Geneva Auto Show.
