Porsche may have left Le Mans a few years back, parking their 919 Hybrid-derived 919 Evo in their Museum in Germany. But they've not forgotten their accomplishments. In one final tribute, the automaker is converting the 919 Hybrid's tires into playable music records.

I say music, but the audio on each record will actually be 24 stories about Porsche's time with Le Mans, each a minute long. The complete and proper set will come with commemorative packaging and graphics that match the original tire's design.

The records will be made public, but not through simple sale. Instead, Porsche will auction off 200 copies of the vinyl record on February 23. Proceeds from the auctions will go to Loisirs Pluriel, a French charity organization for disabled children. They provide housing for these children, accommodating any special needs they may have.

If, like me, you can't really afford to auction up unruly amounts of money for a record, all 24 stories will be available online. Titled "The 24 Minutes of Le Mans," you can find it on Spotify, Apple Music, Soundcloud, and other locations.
