While other companies have been spending their time inventing a wood-based tire, the folks down at Pirelli Design have come up with something a little more entertaining: They play music.
Unfortunately, these tires aren't intended for cars, but as home decoration. The Pirelli P Zero Sound is a large Bluetooth speaker modeled after the tires used in Formula 1 races.
It comes in nine "designs," based on real-life tires compounds. You can choose between Yellow, Pink, Orange, Red, Purple, Ice Blue, White, Blue, or Green. That translates to Soft, Hypersoft, Superhard, Supersoft, Ultrasoft, Hard, Medium, Wet, and Intermediate, respectively. They aren't the same size, however. Each speaker is a 1:2 scale of the actual tires.
Sets of these speakers are being given out to various F1 teams. But if you'd like to get your hands on a set of your own, it'll cost you the low, low price of $2,800.
