It's finally time. Ford has begun taking orders for the 2019 Mustang Bullitt. First, it was spotted around Chicago, then it was formally announced in Detroit. One was even sold for auction, costing $300,000. Fortunately, standard sales won't cost nearly so much.

With the sale doors open, we can finally see the official specs. The Bullitt will have exactly 480 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque on 93-octane fuel. This gives the vehicle a top speed of 163 mph. This sets it a touch more powerful than a standard Mustang GT. Some changes include a performance open air intake, an intake manifold from the Mustang Shelby GT350, and a quad-tip exhaust finished in black NitroPlate.

Ford hasn't announced just how many they plan to make, but they have clarified that this is a limited edition model. The price, after destination and fees, comes to a solid $47,495. While this is a noticeable increase over a GT's $36,090 starting price, I expected it to be higher.

You will have your choice of Shadow Black and Dark Highland Green color options. The grille is black with chrome accents, with the same accents seen on the front windows. The 19-inch aluminum wheels are paired with red Brembo brakes.

Cabin side you'll find plenty of leather and green stitching. A classic cue ball shifter is a retro contrast to the 12-inch LCD instrument cluster.

The 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt is part of a 50th-anniversary celebration of the Steve McQueen movie of the same name. The film features a climactic chase scene, in which a Highland Green 1968 Ford Mustang GT 390 fastback starred in.
