Nissan has issued another love letter to unorthodox wheels. Introducing the Altima-te AWD, a sedan with snow tracks instead of tires.

The name is a play on the word "ultimate," if that wasn't clear (it wasn't to me, at least). Nissan revealed the modified 2019 Altima on Thursday as the next Warrior vehicle, The line includes the Juke, Rogue, Pathfinder, and 370Z.

It's fitting for the Altima to be next to get the treaded treatment. The redesigned 2019 model is the first time the sedan was given all-wheel drive, a necessity to having snow tracks. It also intends to appear at the 2019 Montreal International Auto Show. What a better place to have snow tracks than in Canada?

The modifications were handled by Montreal-based modder Motorsports in Action. They went with the Dominator track system from American Track Truck. Each track is 48 inches long, 30 inches tall, and 15 inches wide. To handle the changes, the Altima had to undergo some series body and Chassis modifications.

The front and rear fenders were flared to make room for the tracks. The ride height was also raised by 3 inches and the suspension geometry changed to compensate.

I don't care what anyone says, big snow tracks on a sedan will always look like something out of a 2006 racing arcade game to me.
