Nissan revealed a real blockbuster car earlier today with this Star Wars VIII: The Last Jedi themed vehicle.
This isn't a first for Nissan. When Star Wars: Rogue One released in theatres, Nissan showed off a custom Nissan Rogue stylized to that of the movie. Now they are back with an imperial themed Titan AT-M6.
This vehicle (and 5 others) were all built by Sun Valley, California, based specialist Vehicle Effects. This company is best known for their work with the Fast and Furious movies, though they have worked on Batmobiles and Marvel vehicles as well.
The Nissan Titan AT-M6 is the biggest and most dramatic of the 6 Star Wars vehicles. Vehicle Effects took a normal Nissan Titan and designed it after the AT-M6 Walker bots used by the First Order to attack the Resistance.
Eric Shimp of Vehicle Effects explains that most of the changes made are aluminum. Some items are molded shapes for consistency, while others are 3D printed. It's all brought together with a skilled work of paint, no wrapping.
Lucasfilm made sure that Vehicle Effects had all the content and information they needed to create an incredibly accurate vehicle. I don't know about you, but this certainly gets me excited about the upcoming Star Wars movie.
