Mini has revealed a new update to their line of John Cooper Works performance vehicles, including the Hardtop and Convertible variants.

This upgrade is taking place as a mid-cycle update for the current generation of the modern Mini (third gen). While the focus is on the new top designs, it also comes with a few under-the-hood upgrades. This includes a gasoline particulate filter that's now integrated with the sports exhaust system without negatively affecting performance.

Non-American markets are listing the JCW variant with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine, pushing 228 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. Its being offered with a 6-speed manual transmission as well as an 8 speed automatic. Regardless of which, you can expect a 0 to 60 mph time of 6.0 seconds, with the convertible shaving about 0.3 seconds off compared to the hardtop.

The only external change you'll see is on the tail lights, which now have the Union Jack graphic visible inside of them. Inside the cabin, however, are new personalization options. This includes LED accents, a wireless charging pad, and more infotainment features.

With a market release for the Spring of 2019, we've heard nothing yet of a United States release.
