A customer was not happy at all when he brought his Mazda RX-8 in to the shop for an airbag recall, only to find out afterward that his car was taken out for a joy ride by one of the mechanics. The owner of the vehicle had a dashcam installed in the car, and upon picking up the RX-8, he decided to check out the footage.

The mechanic that took the car out had accelerated past the car's 9,000 RPM limit, as you can tell by the beeps you here throughout the video. That serves as a warning to the driver to let off the gas a little bit, but the mechanic had no interest in doing so. Instead, he pushed the car to its limits and the owner is now saying that the vehicle has engine damage.

The company did give him free service for the trouble, so at least he doesn't have to worry about that. I don't even have a nice car, but if somebody took my car out for a ride after I dropped it off to be fixed, I would be pretty pissed too. I'm not sure why the mechanic decided to do this, but I'm assuming he's going to lose his job over it. Hopefully it was the best drive of his life.
