Early Friday morning a man is believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries after his Mazda crashed into the side of an elderly woman's home. At seven in the morning, the Mazda was traveling eastbound on Interstate 40 and left the highway for unknown reasons. It then crashed through several backyards before ramming into the side of the house. On the way, the vehicle crashed through a chain link fence and a shed in another yard before finally making contact with the home. The car was found flipped upside-down and the engine had been ripped from the vehicle.

The man was taking to the hospital immediately once authorities arrived and the fatal response team was also called to the scene of the crash. Anita Elkins, the sister of the homeowner, rushed to the house to make sure her 81-year-old sister was okay. When she arrived, the driver of the car was being placed onto an ambulance via a stretcher. The driver had put a hole into the bedroom of the house, just a few minutes after the homeowner had exited the room.

The reason why the Mazda lost control is still unknown, as is the current state of the driver. Oddly enough, Anita said that she was going to buy a house near her sister a while ago, but decided against it because she was afraid this very thing may have happened to her.
