Havercamp is a phone technician from Michigan. He's also a big fan of the popular sci-fi video game, Halo. The game, which features a futuristic United Nations Space Military, has the player fighting against different aliens and monsters. The most common mode of transportation for the player is the M12 Force Application Vehicle, AKA the Warthog, the standard issue 4x4 for the UNSC.
Starting with the frame of a 1984 Chevy K10, Havercamp used a combination of traditional fabrication and 3D printing to recreate this vehicle in the real world all by himself. The body's shape and design is based on the 3D game models for the Warthog. Fully operational, and even street legal, the creator remarked on people's reactions to it so far.
“Most people when they see this thing are just absolutely floored with how realistic it looks."
It took Havercamp five years to finish the project, costing thousands of dollars. Despite how badly we may want one, it's not for sale.
