Do you remember Lister? You might not, considering they haven't had a new car since the 1990s. Until now, that is.

Ok when we say new, we mean it in a looser sense of the word. Lister has unveiled a vehicle they are calling the Thunder, which is actually a modified Jaguar F-Type. It's powered by the same 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 in their previous vehicle, the Storm. This gives it a surprisingly satanic horsepower of 666, and a less symbolic top speed of 208 mph.

According to Lister, this makes the Thunder their fastest and most powerful road car to date. In terms of the fastest road car in the world, This places it a touch below the Lamborghini Aventador, with a top speed of 217 mph.

Lister hopes that the success of the Thunder can be a stepping stone towards becoming the unofficial tuner of Januar vehicles. Lister CEO Lawrence Whittaker spoke on this in a statement.

“Like Brabus and AMG with Mercedes and Alpina with BMW, we are hoping to become synonymous once again with tuning Jaguar vehicles, giving customers new enhanced, bespoke performance and design alternatives to Jaguar’s acclaimed model program. Although we are not directly affiliated with Jaguar Land Rover, Lister has a Jaguar tuning heritage dating back 65 years.”

Expect only 99 Thunders to be produced, each with a starting price of $198,250. It's first public presentation will take place at the 2018 Historic Motorsport International in London on February 15.
