We know that Lamborghini isn't exactly known for their SUVs. Though bad news falls to the folks who do love the line. The brand has announced that they will not be producing any other SUVs than the Urus.

Maurizio Reggiani, Lamborghini Chief Technical Officer, was in attendance at the Urus' Australian launch. There he stated that that the SUV is "perfect" as is.

“At the end, it is all about brand positioning, and you can go too far down and dilute the position that we are the pinnacle of the car business.”

While the Urus will be their only SUV, there will still be a number of derivatives to the model. There will still be the expected limited editions, as well as a plug-in hybrid version.

In its current state, the Urus powertrain runs off of a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 pushing 650 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. If we assume that the plug-in hybrid version uses the same powertrain as the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, then we can expect about 680 hp from that.

The Urus, Lamborghini's first SUV since 1993, has been an incredible success so far. Pulling in numerous newcomers, 70 percent of Urus owners are new to the brand, many of which have been female. Looking for a new luxury SUV? You could try this one out for around $200,000 to $240,000.
