At amusement parks, you'll find vending machines full of soft drinks and salty snacks. In STEM schools, they offer notepads, pencils, and calculators. In Kansas, they offer a used car.

Carvana, the online car sales company, has built a fully-automated "vending machine" full of vehicles in Kansas City. When you purchase a vehicle through Carvana's online system, you can pick up your vehicle the next day at the 8-story tall building. When you arrive, you are given a large metal coin. Upon inserting the coin into the vending machine, it dispenses your car.

Carvana's mantra is all about replacing the need for physical dealerships. Entirely online, customers can browse, purchase, finance, and even trade in their own car. If you're not satisfied with your choice, you can return the vehicle within seven days.

Kansas City is Carvana's ninth location, so far. The Phoenix-based company also has locations in Raleigh, N.C., Jacksonville, Fla., Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas and Nashville.

Don't worry, if you really don't want to go out of the way, Carvana will also offer to deliver your vehicle to you.
