There's something splendid about classic cars. Maybe it's their vintage style. That's why restomods are as popular as they are. But there's always something missing from that era of vehicles: entertainment.
Or more specifically: infotainment. According to an announcement by Jaguar-Land Rover last Friday, they now offer Classic Infotainment Systems for a number of their vintage cars.
These new systems offer all of the functionality of a modern infotainment system while still being compatible with negative earth electrics. They're also designed and packaged to complement the classic look of the vehicle. They come in a variety of finishes, depending on your vehicle.
The Classic Infotainment Systems offers navigation in 32 languages, smartphone support, Bluetooth connectivity, and an AM/FM radio. Everything is operated through a 3.5-inch touch screen with rotary controls and buttons. Though for that modern touch, you can also use the built-in microphone for voice calls of verbal commands.
This move is similar to what Porsche did in 2015, when they offered GPS and radio for their classic 911 sports car. Though this one isn't restricted to a single vehicle model and offers greater functionality.
The Classic Infotainment Systems will cost approximately $1,400 and can be fitted by authorized retailers.
