As much as it doesn't look like one, we promise that it's a pickup truck. Honda has partnered with students from the Europeo di Design (IED) in Turin, Italy, to produce a mini pickup concept for this year's Geneva International Motor Show.

The goal was to create a vehicle that was the convergence between smart devices and personal transport. The result is what you see before you, the Honda Tomo concept. It's a mix between a coupe and a pickup truck. It'll have more connectivity options than any one man would need, zero emissions, and plenty of turned heads.

The designers named it Tomo after the Japanese word for friend. They wanted users to see the vehicle as that ultimate friend that you can call on to help you, whether its moving stuff or spending a night on the town. Tomo is 157 inches long, 74.5 inches wide, and 61 inches tall. This makes it more compact than your average sedan, making it more fit for busy cities. The interior will have multiple screens available as well as a heads-up display.

Given the context of the Tomo, it's upbringing, and current market trends, we don't expect to see it enter production. Instead, it serves as an interesting idea of the future and inspiration for other designers.

If you want to see the Tomo for yourself, you can catch it at the Geneva Auto Show this March 5 in Palexpo, Le Grand-Saconnex, Switzerland.
