It's no secret that Honda has been having a hard time pushing the new Honda Accord. Since the most recent generation's launch in October, dealers have struggled to make enough sales, to the point of asking Honda for help. In response, Honda has plans to idle production of the new Accord over the next few months.

Production of Accords and their related parts in Marysville, Ohio will be idled temporarily to help offset the lack of sales. According to reports, the automaker has told their Marysville workers to take two days off per month from April to June. There will also extend their six-day production shutdown this summer to 11 days instead. Employees were told that they can choose to work on nonproduction related jobs during this time, instead of taking the days off, if they choose.

Honda has always been stubborn to offer incentives for leasing a new vehicle. This is a clear example of that. But the automaker needs to cut down on the many Accords already in stock. So perhaps we may still see some offers before the end of the year.
