We previously reported the horrible skin-wrap of a fake Ferrari F40 over a Nissan Sentra. Fortunately, Gunther Werks are providing a genuine and high-quality body to the masses.
The California based firm has recently unveiled a new carbon fiber body for the Porsche 993. The announcement was made at The Quail, a motorsports gathering taking place during the 2018 Monterey Car Week. The firm has continued to praise the 993 architecture and intends for this new body to be a tribute respecting the form.
The carbon fiber body will be part of Gunther Werks' 911 restomod. It will also have the original engine replaced with a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated and air-cooled engine flat-6. The power source comes from Rothsport Racing, who tuned the mill to push out a stable 400 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque. Good thing they have Brembo CCM-R carbon ceramic 15-inch rotor brakes on the wheels.
To keep things smooth, each model will receive a JRZ active suspension, which dynamically adjusts to match road conditions. This pairs wonderfully with the 295/30/18 front and 335/30/18 rear Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires.
Only 25 examples of the 911 restomod are planned for production. If interested buyers do not wish to provide their own donor car for conversion, Gunther Werks can provide one.
