The new Gran Turismo Sport, created by Polyphony Digital, was showcased at E3 using a virtual reality headset. It did, however, come with some pretty hefty limitations. The game isn't ready to ship out yet and doesn't even have a release date. All we know is that it's coming exclusively to PlayStation 4 and is due out in Fall of 2017.
There has always been huge competition between Gran Turismo and Forza. GT being the Sony exclusive, while Forza is only for Xbox and Windows PC players. It shocked a lot of people when Sony's main presentation ended and we didn't get a chance to look at any Gran Turismo Sport gameplay, especially since we got to see an absolutely stunning trailer in the pre-show. That video can be found down below.
Back in 2015, Kazunori Yamauchi announced that this game was going to be developed for PSVR. The amount of limitations at E3 got people thinking, and maybe this isn't going to be all we had hoped for. Obviously, the game is available to those of you that do not have virtual reality headsets, but it's starting to surface that maybe this game can't be placed on virtual reality just yet. Whether it's due to a lack of developers that can code in VR, or just due to the fact that the technology isn't advanced enough, we might not be getting the great experience we were hoping for.
