Continuing the recent wave or unrelated recalls, General Motors is recalling nearly two million different trucks and SUVs around the world. The issue lies with the electric power steering system.
The recall notice lists approximately 1.2 million 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Sierra and Yukon, and Cadillac Escalade models. About 700,000 2014 models are affected as well. These vehicles may experience random and sudden failures and returns from their power steering. Should this happen during a low-speed turn, a traffic collision could occur. So far, there are 30 reports of crashes, resulting in two injuries, as a result of this defect.
Anyone believes to be affected by this issue will be notified and instructed to visit their local dealership. certified technicians will update the power steering's software system and return the vehicle at no cost. Further questions should be directed to the customer service line for your vehicle's brand.
This is one of the more severe recall issues. Be safe, drivers.
