Car magazine states:
Ferrari is bowing to the inevitable and drawing up plans for a sports car with more than a hint of genus off-roader about it.
Despite years of denying it would build an SUV, CAR magazine can confirm that it’s now an active project in Maranello - and even has its own codename: F16X, which will be built alongside the next-gen GTC4 shooting brake range.
You might be thinking, "well, why?" Honestly, that's a great question, because there really isn't much of a reason. Ferrari has stated that they're going to go through with these plans because Aston Martin is doing it, as well as Lamborghini. I guess Ferrari wants the chance to try to one-up those manufacturers on their SUV game? I'm asking because I truly don't see the point.
The car is set to debut in 2021, so more news will be coming along at some point. I don't know how long it will be, but we will get it eventually. Hopefully this isn't just another big rumor that falls through the cracks, because I'm getting really sick of rumors.
