For many young engineers, it would be a dream come true to work for one of the most interesting sports car manufacturers there are.

Thomas Evans, University of Auckland engineering student, has been chosen by the Bruce McLaren International Internship to work for them in Surrey for a few months. Evans, who was born in England, grew up in Whangaparaoa, New Zealand.

Evans remarks on the opportunity.

“Automotive engineering is a field that is very hard to get into. so to get an opportunity like this with McLaren is amazing and not something I ever dared dream would be possible. I am excited to get to McLaren, meet the people and get started!”

The Bruce McLaren International Internship program was a product of Bruce himself. His jumpstart to the industry was a "Driver to Europe" scholarship he acquired when he was young, something that he attributes to his leading a supercar company.

Best of luck to Thomas Evans with his internship.
