Imagine if you were holding $288,000 and it suddenly burst into flames on the highway. You would probably be extremely upset, right? Well, an unnamed driver in the United Kingdom had that happen, but it was a tad different. Instead of holding the money as it burst into flames, he spent all $288,000 on a new Ferrari F430 Scuderi, which he crashed an hour later.

Police say that they spotted the car up in flames off of the side of the highway. The driver somehow managed to escape with only minor injuries, but the car didn't make it. All that's left of the vehicle is a melted metallic heap. When the car was destroyed, the driver's hopes and dreams probably died as well. Police said that they could detect "a sense of damage pride" from the driver after he told his story.

I couldn't even imagine how terrible I would feel if that happened to me. Police even reported that the accident wasn't due to any kind of excess speed, and it didn't involve any other drivers. We really aren't sure what happened here, but regardless, it's a very sad day.
