Nominative determinism is the hypothesis that people tend to gravitate towards areas of work that fit their names. Or in this case, your license plate. This Washington resident was arrested recently for a "series of bad decisions," and he just happens to have the license plate "DIRTBAG."
The story starts at an automatic car wash in Bellevue, Washington. A 40-year-old Camaro owner rear-ended another driver. When the other driver stepped out to photograph the damage, the Camaro man reportedly pointed a handgun at him, making several threats and racial insults. When the police arrived, he physically struck an officer, spouting off threats to kill them. In the end, an officer used a Taser to subdue the Camaro man.
The man is now facing charges for first-degree assault, assaulting a police officer, harassment, and resisting arrest. The Bellevue Police Twitter account later posted an image of the man's plates, showing off the self-fulfilling title.
Camaro man will likely be facing heavy fines, as well as jail time. This is probably for the better; He could have seriously hurt someone.
