Chevrolet is pushing back into the middleweights with their Silverado 4500HD and 5500HD pickups. These trucks will debut in March of this year at the 2018 Work Truck Show in Indianapolis. Production of the vehicles is expected by the end of the year.
These trucks are equipped with Class 4 and Class 5 cab chassis and have a regular as well as a crew cab model. You will also have your choice of 2 or 4 wheel drive, not to mention a number of weight ratings and wheelbases.
But what about power? These big boys have a Duramax diesel engine paired with Allison transmission for a proper and potent kick.
Chevy wants your life to be easy, so the Silverados will be one of the easiest to upfit with whatever specialized bodies you need, be it dump bodies, rollbacks or freight boxes.
Let's say you're looking for a truck able to help you with your job in fleet management. Chevy also offers OnStar with 4G LTE connectivity to these trucks, something many companies require.
Want to know more? So do we, but we have to wait for its formal debut at the Work Truck Show. The event will be taking place from March 6 to March 9 at the Indiana Convention Center. Be sure to check back here for the latest on these vehicles.
