The Chevy Truck Centennial Celebration has taken place in Fort Worth, Texas this year. To build further excitement, Chevrolet helicopter dropped the new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado onto the event for a sneak peek before its official debut next month in Detroit.
Many secrets remain kept with Chevrolet's plans, though this was a fun look at whats going on before they flew the vehicle away into the sunset. The 2019 Silverado was sporting a Z71 Trailboss package with an off-road kit adding more bells and whistles to the truck. Chevy mentioned that the Trail Boss designation adds 2 inches to the suspension lift.
Chevy is looking to keep competition strong by offering more engine and transmission options than before. There are suspicions that it will have a 6.2-liter L86 V-8, capable of 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. Though that is purely speculation at this point. Visually speaking, the Silverado looks slimmer and more narrow. So far, I like it.
Aluminum hasn't quite been something that the Silverado has utilized before. Though Chevy hinted towards taking more advantage of mixed materials in the latest model. They claim to be using a special high strength steel for the bed's base.
Until the official debut in Detroit next month, this is all we have to go off of. You can see a video of the event here.
