I always enjoy a weird vehicle, and an odd number of wheels easily qualifies. Campagna's T-Rex three-wheeler will soon be given an electric modification.

The firm announced on Thursday that they're working with Zero Motorcycles to establish a power plant for an electric T-Rex. We will see a prototype of the vehicle at this year's Montreal Electric Vehicle Show, starting on April 20.

For the gasoline model, Campagna works with BMW and Harley-Davidson for their powertrains. They chose Zero for the electric variant due to their reliable and energy dense lithium-ion batteries.

Zero's technology will give the electric T-Rex a clutchless direct drive design as well as an onboard charger. The company's 14.4-kilowatt-hour battery should give the motorcycle an expected 200+ mile range.

Campagna has stated that they've integrated the Zero powertrain into the T-Rex Chassis without a problem, but no specs have been released. While we're left guessing what it's capable of, we're confident that the electric trike will be attractive all the same.

After the electric T-Rex prototype is revealed at Montreal Electric Vehicle Show, it will undergo an extensive testing program to polish out the vehicle for production. With any luck, we'll see a production model premiering this summer.
