I love a luxury car, so the lower entry level for the Cadillac XT4 has me excited. Lucky for me, this fancy ride will debut at the 2018 New York auto show. The XT4 is be slotted below it's larger sister car, the XT5. This will be Cadillac's second crossover in their lineup.
Don't be walking up on the final day expecting to see this lovely vehicle; its debut is planned for March 28, ahead of the 2018 New York auto show’s preview days. It will take place at the Cadillac House in Manhattan.
Cadillac is expecting the XT4 to boost their sales in China while adding more diversity to their U.S. options. Cadillac is rather saturated with sedans, so having a crossover or two will help them appeal to a greater audience. It doesn't stop there, the XT4 will be the first of five new vehicles to be released by the automaker through 2020.
The General Motors Fairfax assembly plant in Kansas City is looking to be the XT4's place of production, alongside the Chevy Malibu. Prototypes of the car have already been built there. The plan, according to Cadillac boss Johann de Nysschen, is to utilize the Malibu's platform underpinning. This will allow them to minimize costs while still building the rest up to the standard of quality one has come to expect from the Cadillac brand.
