A while back, we heard that Bugatti was working on a new track-focused hypercar known as the Divo. At the time, we were only given a small teaser, showing off the blue and grey color scheme. Now we get an equally vague teaser, but with dates!

The Divo will be premiering at The Quail, a motorsports gathering taking place in Monterey, California on August 24. Bugatti uploaded a teaser video on their Facebook page, in which we see what I can only assume are the taillights accompanied by the sound of the vehicle's exhaust.

The name Divo comes from Albert Divo, a French racer that won Sicily's Targa Florio mountain race two times in Bugatti's name. The modern hypercar pays homage to the driver's accomplishments. Since the Targa Florio specialized in agility and handling, we can expect these aspects to shine in the new Divo.

While the vehicle is coachbuilt from the Bugatti Chiron, the automaker states that it's a different, separate car. The Divo's design and development will truly be unique according to Bugatti boss Stephan Winkelmann.

“Happiness is not around the corner. It is the corner. The Divo is made for corners. With this project, the Bugatti team has an opportunity to interpret the brand DNA in terms of agile, nimble handling in a significantly more performance-oriented way.”

Only 40 examples of the Divo will be built. The price starts at a hefty $5.8 million, and more examples may be considered should they sell well.
