In May, Bugatti held a private showing of a new Chiron variant in Los Angeles. Though responses were along the lines of “controversial” and “pretty limited,” according to one attendee. That hasn't stopped Bugatti from confrming the vehicle early.

It will be called the Chiron Divo and it's due to be revealed on August 24 during Monterey Car Week's The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering. The automaker has released a teaser shot of the vehicle, showing off the assumed color scheme of the vehicle: grey and French racing blue.

Bugatti claims the vehicle was “built for corners,” implying a hardcore track variant. Based on this speculation, and unconfirmed rumors, the car will feature a racing transmission, reduced weight, and aerodynamics focused on generating downward force.

Nothing is without sacrifice. however. A focus on track performance is the likely cause of a reported reduction of top speed, now at 239 mph. This is a notably decrease from a standard Chiron's top speed of 261 mph. Both vehicles have the same horsepower, at 1,480 hp.

Only 100 units are expected to be produced, each one with a $5.8 million price tag. If that doesn't boggle you, perhaps the fact that all 100 build slots have already been sold will.
