Sometimes you build a solid gold toilet and only afterward do you realize how much better it'd look if you inlaid some rubies to the lid. This is somewhat like what Bugatti did with the Chiron. According to an announcement by the French car company on Wednesday, the new Bugatti Chiron will now come with a Sky View option upon ordering.

This new option will add two 25-inch long and 17-inch wide glass panels on the roof, one for the driver and one for the passenger. According to Bugatti, the two panels use recently developed glass, consisting of four thin, intermediate layers. These additional layers reduce wind noise and the omnipotent power of the sun. It also is coated in a special tinting, reducing glare from the sun.

This addition has a surprise bonus effect: It improves the roof's stiffness. Any and all Chiron add-ons don't compromise crash safety. But thanks to the additional inch of headroom the Sky View option adds, the overall structural integrity is slightly improved.

We'll see the latest Chiron model when it's presented during the 2018 Monterey Car Week, starting August 18 and going until August 26.
