BMW has announced a new variation to the M3, the 2018 BMW M3 CS. This version will be more powerful, have better suspension, new exhausts, and plenty of carbon fiber replacements. Only 1,200 units will be made worldwide, with 550 of them coming to the U.S.

The CS has a 3.0-liter twin-turbo I-6, which adds 28 more horsepower and 37 more lb-ft of torque to the model. This sets them at 453 hp and 443 lb-ft respectively. This gives the M3 CS a top speed of 174mph. The only transmission option for this model is a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Carbon fiber has replaced the front splitter, rear diffuser, and a lip spoiler of the M3 CS, making it 110 pounds lighter. An adaptive M suspension lets the driver select 3 modes of various damper settings — Comfort, Sport, and Sport+.

The BMW M3 CS roll with alloy wheels with 19 inches up front and 20 inches in the back. These wheels are more lightweight and will help shed unwanted pounds. The tires are staggered, 265/35/R19 up front and 285/30/R20 in back. High-Performance M compound brake pads are standard, with carbon ceramic units as an optional alternative.

The inside brandishes a silvertone and black leather and Alcantara upholstery, LED headlights, custom M sport seating, an M sport steering wheel, a Harman Hardon audio system, and built-in navigation.

Ordering for the 2018 BMW M3 CS open in May 2018 for the U.S. market.
