BMW has begun what is sure to be a long and slow tease of the production 8 Series coupe. We saw the concept vehicle last year, but now we get our first glance at what that body will be rocking, at least from the back.

The production 8 Series seems to have kept the wide and defined hips from its concept model. It's taillights narrow and wide contribute towards its aggressive stance. While our vision of the vents is diminished, they seem to not have strayed too far from the concept's path either. They likely have been toned down a touch.

According to the automaker, the new 8 Series is currently going through test drives at the proving grounds in Aprilia, Italy. Here is where they will finely tune the suspension of the vehicle to maximize balance, agility, and comfort.

It has me excited, that's for sure.
