BMW has introduced a new series of performance parts for the BMW M5 this week at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. When the vehicle itself launches this spring, some of these parts will be available alongside it. The rest will be released July of next year.
The M5's performance line, known as M Performance, will be accented with a motorsport stripes as well as some more aerodynamic body parts made of lightweight carbon fiber.
The more technical changes include an improved Coilover suspension (with red coil springs), carbon ceramic brakes, and a new sports exhaust system with a titanium rear muffler.
For the more tech-savvy, The vehicle will also record your driving data and send it to your smartphone. Through a system called The Drive Analyzer, the car records things ranging from engine data to speed to how you use your gas and brake pedals. It even records video from the towing lug.
How about the inside? The interior comes with an M Performance steering wheel, Alcantara grip, and a carbon fiber steering wheel cover. The shift paddles are swapped for a new carbon fiber paddles and carbon fiber shift lever cover. For shedding off those unneeded pounds of course.
BMW haven't released the pricing details for the M Performance version of the M5, nor the cost of just the new performance parts line. They are both due to release early to mid-2018 at least.
