Ford didn't make it easy to purchase a 2017 Ford GT, even if you could afford it. In order to be eligible to drop $450,000 towards the car, you had to submit what was essentially a video application of yourself to convince them you were worthy.

The GT is the automaker's apex vehicle, and they want to cultivate its exclusivity. Though now there is an opportunity to bypass Ford's simply silly prerequisite process, because it's coming to the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale later this month.

The Barret-Jackson 2018 Arizona Event will include an auction for a 2017 Ford GT, in which all of its proceeds will be donated to charity. The GT itself belongs to Ron Pratte, who gave up his ride to help raise money for the Ray Evernham Family Racing for a Reason Foundation.

To see something so exclusive being sold for a cause as this, no doubt the final sale price is going to be a value one can only dream of. Though since its a charity sale, it might be considered a tax-deductible expense.

While there is a fair number of interesting vehicles to attend the 2018 Arizona Event, the Ford GT is most likely to generate the greatest interest, even if purely due to the amount of money that will be spent on it.
