In an attempt to persuade Aussies to go electric, the Queensland government in Australia is going to be making a highway loaded with charging stations. The highway is about 2,000 kilometers, or 1,200 miles, and will contain 18 different charging stations along the entire path. This will allows drivers to charge every 30 minutes throughout their entire highway drive.
In addition to adding these stations, the government is also making the use of the stations completely free. Australia is really expecting to see electric car sales start booming after their brand new implementation. For now, all we have to do is wait and see. I think that this is definitely the right move for Australia if they're trying to get sales flowing, but I don't know how successful it will be.
Europe has been extremely welcoming of electric vehicles, so foreign countries are definitely willing to jump into this feet first. Hopefully Australia follows suit and doesn't make the government waste $3 million on this highway for nothing.
