No, that's not a sketch of one of those expensive computer mice you see in the back section of Best Buy. It's Aston Martin's new hypercar. The automaker has revealed their third hypercar, codenamed Project 003.

We know very little about the 003 right now. With nothing more than a sketch to look at, we're left to speculate on the design. It doesn't seem to share much with the Valkyrie, Aston Martin's other hypercar. It's sharp, wavy design lines up with the automakers claims that the vehicle will generate "outstanding levels of downforce in a road-legal car."

What we DO know is that only 500 examples of Project 003 will be produced. It'll be powered by a turbocharged gas-electric hybrid engine and held up by an active suspension.

It's not a track car, mind you. Designed for road use, it'll have space for luggage, come in left and right-hand drive, and come with all of the street-legal requirements the DMV looks for.

Aston Martin boss Andy Palmer had this to say.

"It was always the intention for the Aston Martin Valkyrie to be a once-in-a lifetime project. However, it was also vital to us that Valkyrie would create a legacy: a direct descendant that would also set new standards within its own area of the hypercar market, creating a bloodline of highly specialized, limited-production machines that can exist in parallel with Aston Martin's series production models. I'm thrilled to announce that this car is the Project 003, and our next step into a dynamic and exacting arena."

This is only the beginning of the Project 003's information trickle. We can expect bits of information to come out over the next three to four years.
