The Aston Martin Valkyrie was announced last summer in partnership with Red Bull. They said that only 25 of them would be made for the tracks. Today we see what that means with the Valkyrie AMR Pro. It looks like something out of a Hotwheels box.
Aston Martin claims the Valkyrie AMR Pro is as capable as a modern F1 car. This confidence is built from the 6.5-liter Cosworth V12 engine pushing a whooping 1130 hp and the extensive weight loss.
With some luxury items removed (that means no radio), the glass replaced with polycarbonate, carbon fiber wishbones, lighter suspension uprights, and a fixed racing seat, this vehicle weighs a good bit less than the standard version. It's expected weight is around 2300 lbs. Since they do not need to meet road-car noise regulations, they were able to use a noisier and lighter exhaust. The Valkyrie AMR Pro will also run 18-inch front wheels, which allows the fitment of LMP1-spec Michelin tires. The brakes are full carbon units as well.
The carmaker claims a top speed of over 250 mph. These are the only specs currently available for the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro. Though I'm sure when the details are released, they will be just as impressive.
No word on the price of the AMR Pro, though that makes no difference even if you could afford one. All 25 have been sold, with deliveries set for 2020.
