A recently unearthed International Harvester Metro discovered in the woods of Massachusetts may actually be the very first touring van of rock and roll legends Aerosmith.

According to a report by the Boston Globe, the van was discovered on a private property in Chesterfield, Massachusetts, across from the band's founding town of Boston. The discovery was documented on the History Channel show "American Pickers," where the van can be seen loaded into a trailer.

The landowner, who identified purely as "Phil" explained that the van was on the property before he had purchased it from an unnamed individual. The previous owner allegedly had a connection with the band.

Show host Mike Wolfe contacted Ray Tabano, a founding member of the band. Tabano was able to confirm that the van in question was used by Aerosmith as they traveled the New England area on their way to gigs.

Wolfe was put in contact with Ray Tabano, who was replaced but later returned to work for the group. Tabano confirmed the van was used by Aerosmith as it made its way to gigs in New England.

“I’m afraid to say how long it is, but it’s been like 40 years since we’ve been in this thing. We’d drive from Boston up to New Hampshire for $125. Then after the gas, the tolls, and the food and back, we’d all make like $3 apiece.”

The show hosts purchased the van from Phil for $25,000. This is an incredibly large price for a broken down van from the 60s. But given its acclaim, the vehicle is one restoration away from being worth far more than that.
