There are quite a few Batmobiles in the world, each variation having its own degree of rarity. So when a 1975 BMW 3.0 CSL with a Chamonix Metallic White coat of paint and the “Batmobile” aerodynamics package, we get excited.
The vehicle has appeared as an RM Sotheby's Minaco 2018 sale listing, where it will appear alongside a number of other BMWs. It's in perfect condition, and includes a rare aerodynamics package that modifies the front air dam, short roof spoiler, and adds a three-piece rear wing. The cabin has clean black and red Scheel sport seats with the original three-spoke steering wheel in the driver's seat.
Vehicle records show that this particular vehicle was built in mid 1973. It wouldn't be registered (in Spain) by the first owner until 1975 however. The vehicle still has it's original engine, with an impressively low 24,278 miles on the odometer.
Fast forward ten years and the vehicle has made its way to Germany. It remained there until 2007, where it was sold once again to a resident of Spain. That owner held onto the vehicle before it was purchased by the auction house in 2013.
RM Sotheby’s estimates this rarity will sell for $356,000-479,000. So I hope you have Batman levels of extra cash if you're wanting to purchase this one.
