In a routine tow, a truck was carrying a broken street sweeper down the street. At some point along the drive, the tow truck snapped a chain, which sent the broken street sweeper into a woman's vehicle. Her car was parked legally outside of her house on the day of the crash. It was a freak accident for sure, but unfortunately, it has left the woman is a bad situation.

The car was completely totaled. The back end was destroyed, the back windshield was boxed in, and glass flew through the entire car. To make things even worse, the car was purchased brand new in 2015, and she was planning on keeping it for a long time.

The city will only pay for the value of the car, not taking into consideration the amount that she still owes for it. The city has also refused to pay for a rental car. This woman is now forced to pay off her totaled car, buy a new car, and pay that new vehicle off at the same time all because she was legally parked. This woman did absolutely nothing wrong and it's just terrible that this has happened to her.

Hopefully she is able to make some legal headway and can get some more money out of the city to help support herself. At the end of the day, none of this was her fault at all and she shouldn't have to pay one single penny to clean up the mess that a tow truck made.
