For as long as I can remember Volkswagen has been super “Mod Friendly”. I remember going to the local dealer with a friend who owned a VW GTI and them stating that “Oh yeah, you can chip that, no problem!” among other cool statements that took us by surprise so it’s no surprise that VW recently decided to showcase a new line of concept cars aimed at Car Enthusiasts in an effort to bring them to the Dealer to buy a new car.
So what are these cool new concept cars that VW is showing off? Well they will be shown at this year's Southern Wörthersee festival. Here's a glimpse at some of these rides so check it out!
The Volkswagen Golf GTI RS Concept
Out of all the cars, this is probably the closest to being a true modded scene car. The Creative Director at Vossen Wheels owns the car so you know it’s going to have some cool mods. His setup includes a Rocket Bunny wide body kit that is covered in vinyl, a Thule box on the roof for storage and stripped racing seats with a polished aluminum floorpan. The engine mods aren’t listed but I’m sure there are some.
The Volkswagen Jetta GLI Nardo Concept
Going with a bit less, this concept is wrapped in Nardo Grey vinyl, has HRE FF01 Flow Forms wheels wrapped in BFGoordrich tires and stands on H&R coilovers to go with the performance GLI standard package so the performance is on par with your normal factory GLI.
The Volkswagen Bettle Post Concept
Of course no VW article is complete without showing off a Bug right? BMX champ Alise Post owns this car (hence the concept name) and he totes around a few bikes on top.
The mods include 19 inch Mr. Drama Queen wheels (who makes this up? Lol), sits on H&R coilovers and has a cool Habanero Orange paint job with lettering along the side.
The Volkswagen Golf R Heritage Concept
Adding in another Golf here, the VW Golf R in particular. Sporting 292 hp makes it quick and the German inspired flag vinyl theme makes it seem even quicker. It sits atop Vossen wheels and H&R coilovers (we’re seeing a recurring theme are we?). Not much past that, just a stock Golf R but I’m sure some will pick it up for a hefty markup.
The Volkswagen Golf Alltrack Country Concept
Last but not least, probably the coolest of the bunch in a fast off roader Golf with a lift!
It sits atop 15 inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain BFGoodrich tires, has a big bright LED bar mounted on the roof, solar panel for charging things, solar heated shower, upgraded entertainment system and a Thule bike rack to go along with the 2 inch lift. I mean, if you want to rough if in the wild, this is probably the package you want, right? Just need a couple of bug out bags to throw in there and we’re good to go!
Quite the list of cars I will say, hopefully the markup isn’t too insane but I’m sure some VW fans will jump at these modded VW’s.
