Bugatti CEO Wolfgang Durheimer has confirmed that the next Bugatti hypercar will be a hybrid. This shouldn't be surprising, seeing how much competition Bugatti is up against with McLaren, Ferrari, and Porsche. It's actually quite incredible that they didn't choose to go electric at all with the Chiron. That car is still new and easily could have been made with some electrical components, but Bugatti made it happen by just upgrading Veyron components.

Durheimer believes that the Chiron is the limit for what you can do without hybrid electrification, stating that their next record-breaking vehicle will have to make the leap. Production for the Chiron is set for eight years, which means that their next hypercar could easily be delayed. If Bugatti doesn't put a heavy focus on their new hybrid replacement for the Chiron, we might have to wait over a decade.

If they decide to wait that long just to make a hybrid car, who knows what kind of competition they'll be up against after a decade. Maybe they'll completely skip hybrid and just go the fully autonomous route. Either way, we won't find out for a while. Let's just sit back and enjoy everything the Chiron has to offer.
